It will also give you the confidence and respect of your mangers, co-workers and subordinates.
Entering a career as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) is for the IT professional with at least a years experience. It is not for an entry level person, no matter what their educational background. Microsoft recommends that the candidate for MCSE Certification have worked with in a medium to large organization. This would be defined as 200 to 2,600 supported users in five to 150 locations. Applications that you should have worked with include file and print, database, messaging, proxy server or firewall, dial-in server, desktop management, and web hosting. Connectivity requirements would typically be connecting remote users and individual offices to the corporate network and then connecting corporate networks to the internet. The person desiring a MCSE Certification should be able to design a network infrastructure. In addition they should be able to both implement and administer a desktop operating system. If you possess the minimum experience you may be eligible as a candidate for an MCSE Certification. Once you obtain the MCSE Certification you will have demonstrated that you have the technical knowledge and skills to lead any organization in the successful design, implementation, and administration of Microsoft's most advanced Windows operating system and the Microsoft Windows Server System. Related job titles that would pertain to the MSCE certificate are systems engineer, network engineer, systems analyst, network analyst, or technical consultant. The MCSE certificate does not retire but stays with you for life. It can be built upon and upgraded by taking additional tests as Microsoft introduces new systems. For instance, engineers that held certification on Microsoft Windows 2000 Servers were able to retest and upgrade by taking only two exams until March 2008. When Microsoft Windows 2008 Server is introduced holders of the 2003 Certification will be given the same opportunity.
