Use A MCSE Practice Exam To Avoid Test Stress
When it comes right down to it, your Microsoft Certified Software Engineer (MCSE) certification will depend on how well you do on the exam. You may have attended the best preparatory schools, studied the manuals, and worked in the labs, but if you do not pass the exam. You are not certified.
In some cases the preparations go against us. We study and study creating an expectation. When we actually sit down at the desk and see the test there in front of us, it is not uncommon to freeze. It is one thing to know the material and be able to apply it at work. It is a totally different thing to connect that knowledge with the questions on the test. For some of us, we clam up, drop the ball, or whatever you want to call it, we fail the test. And in most cases we know the information.
There is a name for this phenomenon and that is test stress. It is brought on by fear of failing, fear of taking chances or being unprepared.
People who approach tests with the fear of failing normally look at the test as the one and only opportunity for their life or career. As important as a test may be, it is not a life or death matter. You can always learn from the test no matter how well (or poor) you did. In test taking you do not have to get 100%. When you come to a question you do not know rely on the knowledge you do have, take a chance, and make an educated guess. Right answers from educated guesses count just as much as right answers from being positive of the answer. And guess what, an answer that is wrong from a guess counts the same as a question that is not answered. One of the ways to be prepared for your MCSE exam is to take MCSE practice exams. Your MCSE practise exam will provide you with the experience of seeing the test format and allow you to become familiar with the question format. When you work with an MCSE practice exam do it with someone else if at all possible. Each time a question is missed, research the correct answer and then teach your study partner the correct answer and why it is correct. Testing and then teaching the test reinforces the learning process and will help you build confidence in the material and your test taking ability.
